Nelson Bonilla has served for the last 11 years a two-point, rural charge in the Jacksonville area. He is well-loved by his congregations and yet is ready for a new challenge in ministry. Before serving in Florida, Nelson served United Methodist churches in Wisconsin and New York. He completed his course study at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Chicago.

Nelson self-identifies his pastoral gifts as preaching, teaching and servanthood. He enjoys working with people to build up the community. He is bilingual and originally from El Salvador.

Nelson has written about his faith, “I believe in Christ as my Lord and Saviour; I believe in the Holy Trinity and the resurrection of the dead. I believe Christianity is a way of life; I believe we Christians can make a difference in this world. Our mission is to follow the Great Commission to go out and make disciples.”

Hi is married to Yanira and they have three grown children. He is excited to be coming to Silver Palm and Redland this summer.
